What should I charge for Nail Nipper Sharpening? That will depend on what area of the country you are from. Many of the larger cities on the east and west coast areas can charge more for their sharpening services because of the cost of living and other factors. However, the range of nipper sharpening prices can really go anywhere from $5.00 to $10.00 a pair for the Cuticle and Acrylic Nipper Sharpening, while Podiatry Toe nail and tissue nipper sharpening can range from $7.00 to $14.00 depending on the area you are located in. Only you know the area you live in. But these are ranges of prices that other Nipper Sharpeners from across the country are charging. This will give you a starting base to go by.
Is Nipper Sharpening easy? That is a hard question. Nipper sharpening is easy once you learn and gain the knowledge of Nippers, how they work and how to fix and repair them using the Nipper Sharpening System. But, Nippers are quite different from shear sharpening and so in the beginning most shear sharpeners find it harder than they anticipated. For those who take it seriously and practice and study the workings of the Nippers, they soon find it easy. One of the most common mistake that a sharpener makes is getting to aggressive when pushing the nipper edges into the diamond disk. A light touch is what is needed because nipper edges are small and fragile. Once they learn the technique and get use to the clamps and the diamond disk they then find sharpening with consistency very easy. Remember, a light touch is what is needed when sharpening, fixing and repairing nippers.
